About Me
I’m Tammy Hicks Jackson — a pastor, Bible teacher, writer, and spiritual mentor.
For more than twenty years, I have helped people engage Scripture, grow in faith, and navigate the complicated intersection of Christianity and everyday life. I created The Fulfilled Life for people who love Jesus but are tired of anxious, exhausted, performative Christianity.
This is a place for thoughtful Bible study, honest questions, ordinary spiritual practices, and the ongoing work of becoming more fully alive.
Why The Fulfilled Life?
I believe God created us for a full and fulfilled life—and that spiritual formation is how we grow into it.
That does not mean life is always easy, peaceful, or neatly resolved. It means faith can become more than something we profess or perform. It can shape how we live, relate, work, rest, question, create, grieve, and hope.
The Fulfilled Life grew from my desire to explore that kind of faith: grounded in Scripture, centered on Jesus, honest about real life, and practiced in ordinary days.
The Kind of Faith You’ll Find Here
I take Scripture seriously, but I do not believe taking it seriously requires pretending it is simple.
I believe honest questions are part of a mature faith. I believe following Jesus should make us more loving, courageous, just, compassionate, and fully human—not more fearful or controlling.
My work is shaped by a faith that is Christ-centered, thoughtful, inclusive, and grounded in grace.
A Little of My Background
I am an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and have served in ministry for more than twenty years as a pastor, teacher, nonprofit leader, and spiritual mentor.
My work has included congregational leadership, Bible teaching, curriculum development, community ministry, leadership formation, and helping people connect faith with the realities of everyday life.
I am also the author of Ravenous to FULLfilled, a book about moving beyond physical hunger to consider the deeper hungers that shape our lives.
Beyond the Work
I share life with my husband, Joseph, and our family, which includes two adult sons, a daughter-in-law, and the perfect little girl who turned Tammy into Grammy.
I am happiest when I have time to study, write, make something, walk, sit on a porch with tea, travel, or follow a question farther than I originally intended.
I am a recovering perfectionist, an enthusiastic journaler, and someone still practicing the fulfilled life rather than claiming to have mastered it.
Come Along
The Fulfilled Life is primarily unfolding through video and writing.
On YouTube, I share Bible study, spiritual practices, honest reflections, and glimpses of ordinary life.
On Substack, I write about whatever has captured my attention and will not let go.
